Hotel Facilities Fees Class Action Investigation

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating complaints by consumers who were unaware of hotel facility fees when making their online reservation. Facilities fees, which cover the cost of hotel facilities and services, are sometimes charged apart from a room’s total price and can be poorly disclosed, appearing either on the reservation’s fine print or on the confirmation screen, rather than during the booking process. When booking through HotelTonight, for example, customers report that the facilities fees adds $20/night, for which you are billed separately. A report published by the Bureau of Economics Federal Trade Commission concluded that consumers are likely to be harmed by the separation of facilities fees from the total price of hotel rooms because keeping the fees separate makes hotel price comparisons more difficult.
