Polaris ATVs and UTVs Fire Risk Class Action Investigation

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating potential fire and burn hazards associated with Polaris All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) and Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTVs). Polaris, a company that specializes in recreational vehicles, was ordered by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to issue four recalls in 2017 for fire risks related to a misfiring engine, detaching heat shields, overheating or short-circuiting wire harnesses, along with a bevy of other issues. The company has already been issued a record $27.5 million civil penalty by the CPSC for failing to report overheating problems and fires caused by the Ranger and RZR all-terrain vehicles. To date, there have been multiple incidents involving injuries, property damage, and death associated with Polaris’ off-road vehicles. Had purchasers known of the potential risks of the ATVs, they also may have paid less for them.
